Are you ready to be published?

At Writing Voices we're proud to help make talented voices heard!

We are now open to external submissions. We often put out calls for submissions on specific themes - check out our social media channels to find out if we're looking for something specific right now.

We accept submissions from all writers - it doesn't matter to us whether you've been published before or not. If you've got a great literary voice and write to a high standard, we want to hear from you.

Please read our submission guidelines and FAQ below carefully before sending us your work.

Here's what you need to know:

What are we looking for:
  • Poetry

  • Fictional prose of no more than three 3,000 words

  • Memoir, autofiction and personal essays of no more than 3,000 words

  • Writing life pieces, which provide insight and learning into being or becoming a writer

  • Got something else? Pitch it to us!

What you should send us:
  • A brief summary of your submission

  • The final draft of your submission in a Word or Google Docs document

  • Your full name or official pen name

  • A 50 word author bio

  • A link to your (non-private) social media account* if you'd like us to tag you or promote

If you have an online social profile to promote yourself as a writer, this is your chance to share that link with our readers.

Some important notes on rights:
  • You must own all publication rights to any work submitted to Writing Voices and it must be your own work. That includes any original imagery you submit with the piece.

  • You will continue to own the rights to your work. By submitting a piece to us, you are giving us permission to display it on our blog and social media channels.

  • We carry out a plagiarism check on all pieces which are considered for our blog.

The final few things to bear in mind:
  • Submissions must be in English

  • You must be 18 or over to submit to Writing Voices

  • We reserve the right to make minor editorial adjustments, or to request a redraft with more extensive editorial feedback

  • We will attempt to give feedback where we can when a piece is rejected; however, due to time constraints, this is not always possible

  • Writing Voices will accept no responsibility for your work or the views expressed in your work

  • You may not create your own branded Writing Voices graphics to promote a published submission

By submitting to Writing Voices you are confirming that:
  • You own all the relevant rights to your work

  • Your submission has not been published or web-published previously, and is not currently in consideration for publication elsewhere

  • You are 18 years of age or over

  • You have read, understand and agree to abide by our submission guidelines and FAQs

Please send submissions to editor@writingvoices.co.uk.

We look forward to working with you!
